Kelowna Actors Studio is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated production of "Grease The Musical" at Kelowna Community Theatre. From August 3 to 12, audiences will have the opportunity to experience the beloved musical that has captured the hearts of generations.
Grease is a high-energy production that takes audiences back to the 1950s, immersing them in the world of Rydell High School and the memorable characters of Sandy, Danny, the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies. This iconic show, filled with catchy songs and unforgettable dance numbers, has become a cultural phenomenon and continues to captivate audiences around the world.
"We are excited to bring this fan favourite to the stage," says Randy Leslie, Artistic Director. "This production is a celebration of the timeless characters and nostalgic charm that have made 'Grease' an enduring classic. Audiences can expect a show filled with energy, romance, and plenty of rock 'n' roll!"
Set against a backdrop of leather jackets, poodle skirts, and slicked-back hair, "Grease" tells the story of Sandy, a new girl at Rydell High, and Danny, the charming leader of the T-Birds.
As they navigate the complexities of teenage life, the show explores themes of love, friendship, and self-discovery, all set to a soundtrack of hit songs such as "Summer Nights," "Greased Lightnin’”, and "You're the One That I Want."
From the infectious energy of the Pink Ladies to the swagger of the T-Birds, audiences will be transported to a world of high school romance and teenage rebellion.
The talented cast of 24 and features the cast pictured above: Josh Richardson (Danny Zuko), Marisa Piatelli (Sandy), Carly Beckner (Rizzo), Gracelynn Sali (Frenchy), Giuliana Borsella (Marty), Skylar Naiman (Jan) Victor De Feo (Kenickie), Ben Moody (Sonny), Ethan Landygo (Doodie), Kevin Morrison (Roger).
Led by Randy Leslie (Director, Lighting Costumes & Wig Design), the production team is already well underway creating the iconic properties and set. This includes the restoration of a classic car to the unforgettable Greased Lightning.
