Chad & Jerome from Evil Dead 2022
Kelowna, BC — Get ready for a hilariously gruesome and outrageously fun experience this Halloween as Kelowna Actors Studio presents Evil Dead: The Musical from October 16th to November 2nd, 2024. Directed/Choreographed by Randy Leslie and Assistant Director Ethan Landygo with musical direction by Spencer Bach and select choreography by Gracelynn Sali, this cult classic combines the best elements of the iconic horror franchise with toe-tapping musical numbers, creating a uniquely entertaining night of theatre.
Evil Dead: The Musical is a high-energy show that follows five college students who accidentally unleash an ancient evil in a remote cabin in the woods. What ensues is a wild ride filled with over-the-top gore, witty dialogue, and catchy songs that are sure to have the audience singing (and screaming) along. With chainsaws, possessed trees, and plenty of fake blood, this production promises a bloody good time for fans of horror and comedy alike.
We are thrilled to announce the return of some familiar faces and introduce new talent for our highly anticipated production.
Chad Abrahamson returns to reprise his role as Ash, the lovable, chainsaw-wielding hero with a heart of gold and a sharp tongue. Jerome Laroche takes on the role of Scotty, the cocky, fun-loving friend who’s always up for a good time and we’re excited to welcome back Joanne Ryan, who will be performing double duty as both “not so smart” Shelly and overbearding explorer, Annie.
Mark Sorestad steps into the role of Jake, the rough-around-the-edges local who knows the woods better than anyone and Janice Sorestad takes on the unique role of "Fake Shemp", a creative nod to the original Evil Dead films where stand-ins or doubles were used to replace actors who were unavailable for certain scenes.
We’re also thrilled to introduce several newcomers to our cast. Mila Prasad joins us as Cheryl, Ash’s sweet and innocent younger sister, whose weekend getaway takes a horrifying turn when she becomes the first to encounter the forces of evil.
Carly Beckner takes on the role of Linda, Ash’s girlfriend. Caden Hergott will play Ed, Annie’s loyal but slightly bumbling boyfriend.
